Let us bow before the noblest of sages, Patanjali;
He who gave yoga for serenity and sanctity of mind;
And grammar for clarity and purity of speech;

Translation
Prana the vital force pervades all the three worlds; below and above
All the activities are directed by prana
We beseech prana, to protect us as a mother protects her children.
We also request prana to stimulate our intellect |
